About Kady and Izzy
Hi! I'm so glad you've found my site! I am the author and illustrator of the Izzy the Corgi Adventure Series... a children's book series that makes great bedtime stories. Some of my best memories of our my parents and grandparents reading stories to me and I hope my series helps you make memories with your kids.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself: I am 18 and although I love living in my small, Kansas town, I headed off to northern Iowa for college. I am studying graphic design and fine arts and am involved in orchestra and forensics while at college. While in high school I was involved in 4H, art, forensics, band, scholars bowl, track and lots of activities at my church - that's the blessing of a small town - you can be involved in a lot of things. I also play the violin. In my free time I like to hang out or play games with my friends. Izzy is my cowboy corgi. Izzy is called a "cowboy corgi" because she is 3/4 Penn brook welsh corgi and 1/4 Australian shepherd. This makes her adorable and REALLY FAST. Plus, she can jump pretty well! She is four now and I love her so much! I show her in 4H and she does great but the best thing is - she is so cute! I hate to leave her - I even had my picture taken with her at prom!! Check out more of her pictures and videos below. Izzy loves to play catch , really just PLAY anything - hide and seek is a favorite (see my videos of that! or follow Izzy on Facebook at IzzytheCorgi). Unfortunately Izzy had to stay home while I went off to college but I visit her often and she is planning a visit to come see me soon so she can meet all my new friends. I was 16 and a sophomore in high school when I wrote my first book as part of a project based learning class at my high school. I discovered having a grade made me a lot more motivated to get the book done. My second book took a bit longer and I wrote it and illustrated it throughout my junior year. Book 2 is more of a comic book and it took A LOT longer to draw all the pictures. I finished my third book in spring of 2023 and I'm very pleased with the results - at my mom and English teacher's urging, this one even contains some punny cow jokes. This summer I will be working on the fourth book in the series. Obviously I love to draw and illustration is my passion but being creating and writing stories goes right along with that. If you'd like to see some of my other artwork CLICK HERE. If you want to meet Izzy and I in person, check out the events page and see where we will be for our next book signing or school or library program - we'd love to meet you! Or contact me to come speak at your next event. |
